How to make the Smalltown Boy AI dance

The trend is a 14-second vertical duo video set to Smalltown Boy. One performer leans into the camera, hands on head, and screams along; the other dances behind. At about seven seconds the shot cuts and they swap. The AI version puts two people or two pets into those parts. There are three ways to make it.

1. A CapCut template

Search CapCut for Smalltown Boy AI and pick a template with the duo layout. What you can swap depends on the template: check whether it changes the whole performer or only pastes a face, whether it takes pets, and whether the export carries a watermark. Good for a quick try on your phone.

2. Your own AI video model and a prompt

If you have credits on Kling, Seedance or Higgsfield, you can run the trend yourself: the original clip as the motion reference, a first frame with both subjects, and a motion-transfer prompt. Expect a few tries to get both roles right, and you will need to add the original sound back. Our free Smalltown Boy AI prompt has the full setup.

3. Two photos on this site

  1. Add two photos: who takes the close-up first, and who dances first. People or pets.
  2. See a free preview of both of them in the opening shot, usually in about a minute.
  3. If you like it, pay on the same screen: $6.90 for 480p or $10.90 for 720p, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. No account.
  4. The video, with the original sound, is ready in 5 to 20 minutes. If it fails, retry free up to three times, or get a refund.

Which photos work best

  • One subject per photo, facing the camera, face fully visible.
  • Even light, no sunglasses or masks. Each performer keeps the clothes in their photo, so pick the outfit you want to see.
  • Pets: a front-facing photo where the whole head is sharp. Cats are the most shared version of the trend.

Where the trend comes from

The song is Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat (1984). The AI duo format spread on TikTok in October 2026; the version this site follows was posted by @capcut.ai.templat5. This site is not affiliated with Bronski Beat, TikTok, CapCut or the creators of the trend. If you posted the original video, write to us and we will credit you or take it down.
